Phatmatix is Stephane Rault from Paris, France. An ex-guitar player he was first introduced to psy trance in the late 90's. Since then he has DJ'd around the globe keeping his focus on powerful night time sounds.
After returning from an Australian tour in 2003, where he played at some of the largest festivals and parties, Earthcore, Rainbow Serpent, and Exodus to name a few, he was inspired to start his solo project "Phatmatix".
After many long hours in the studio Stephane developed a sound he could truly call his own. It was an instant success, and he went on to release his first track 'Diabolyk' on the Swiss label Peak Records. Constantly in search of new ways of experimenting with sound he joined forces with Mechanik Sound Records. Also Working alongside Neuromotor and Hyper Frequencies, he contributed his psychedelic perceptions to the "Mechanik Castle compilation" under the guise of several collaborative projects such as Los Diablos , Chromatix , Superpunk and Time Machine .
The dynamic and ever evolving sound of Phatmatix combines funky rhythmical beats with quirky FX and supernatural atmospheres, creating an unpredictable contrast between the dark and light that keeps the dancefloor begging for more.
Known for his addictive sounds, Phatmatix has become one of the most sought after new psychedelic talents from France. More recently, however, he has joined forces with Yabai Records from Japan. The year s gonna be busy as he will also work on his side projects : Mindcore ( with Digital Talk) and Xtra Units with Triskell .
